As a starter,try a search here with 172 home cockpit
A 172 is relatively easy project
You only need to buy one or two Nav radios (for navigation) a yoke and a rudder.
The rest (all switches, engine controls etc) can be home made and easy to interface with a joystick inputs and outputs card.

I'm new to sim building. I'm a student pilot looking to recreate a fairly accurate cockpit of a 172 to ease the transition time into the real aircraft. I'm a low tech kinda guy, but looking for some help and knowledge from experienced people to help me achieve this goal.

Sorry to say, but me too am waiting for key code for my Instructor Station bought Monday via SimMarket. Have sent to you by email Monday (Nov. 11th) the installation code, unfortunately no response till to date. Only received an obviously auto generated email stating that you received my email and saying the key would be sent within 48h the most.
Please send me the key code asap, as I need to use the Instructor Station.
By the way, the link to your website is returning a Google error 404.

A little about me: I'm a big fan of all kinds of outdoor adventures. Whether it's hunting, fishing, camping, or getting lost on some 4x4 trails, I'm always up for some fun.
