Hey guys,

I know most of you are building 737's and I am not sure how their starter switches work, but in the 757/767 the engine start switches spring back from the GND setting once N2 has hit a certain point and the engine becomes self-sustaining. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for how to make this work with the physical switch in the sim? If anyone has ideas, I would love to hear them!

Regards,
Matt

Hans Krohn has a very nice design but somewhat complicated as it requires some machining  http://www.hanskrohn.com/start.htm
look at the building tips page

Trevor Wimmer's design is great  and even gives you the sioc code. http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/view_tutorials.php
Very bottom of page.

Hope this helps you with some good ideas.

Hi Matt,

Ruscool electronics in NZ make one.  Here's their prototype demo'd on youtube.

You could always pick up the read deal from APHS!

I also saw another guy who did it with a simple servo setup. really neat. I will try to find the powerpoint.

I had a look on the APHS site... VERY WORRYING to say the least....

Here is one item that shows what I mean

Quote

727/737 cockpit escape rope.
(Instructions for use: Captain hands rope to F/O, and says, "Open your window and jump"...
Must be on ground, not in flight...if the F/O doesn't break both legs, the captain will then follow)

I'm just worried about people jumping out of their simulator windows.  ;)

Getting back on track, the Ruscool spring back switches look the business.
