I wanted to share my experience of buying a custom built Jetline Hellfire system. Thought it may help those who are considering buying a system from Jetline.

Overall, it has been a very gratifying experience. Beginning with my first call to Jetline, the interactions have been nothing but valuable. They are committed to customer service.

For specifics of the system and details of my experience with them, here is a link to my journal post - http://simulationresearch.net/wordpress/?p=769

Hey CP,
It seems you have now an amazing system running.
My question is: These frame rates are obtained directly from the hardware or some twisting on the FS was necessary to achived them?

Before i speak anymore about frame rates, I realize there are many members on this and other forums who dont like this pre-occupation with FPS. Its the first time that i am even seeing those kinds of numbers on my counter and i cant stop myself from speaking about it..... After a few day i am sure i will get over it.... In the meantime please tolerate me.... :-)

Now to respond to Roberto's question...
Directly off the hardware i was getting 15-16 fps (very smooth i must say) in MEGA airports like EDDF, EDDM, LSZH, KLAX. (+/- 2 frames).

All sliders are at max. The only tweak made is affinity mask, texture bandwidth mult, and bufferpools. Just by setting affinity mask to 14, i went to 30-32 frames at these airports and in flight i max out as predicted by Nick and others at around 60 which is the refresh rate of my projectors. I am running triple projection XVGA resolution. My wall is 14' diameter and i have 176 degrees of view.

I must say that beyond that 15-16fps, getting more fps didnt do much for me because motion was completely smooth even with 15-17 fps. It just removes my paranoia that it will drop back to 7 fps!!!

I installed LondonVFR scenery and at 500 feet in a cessna with HD textures, i dropped to 17 fps. Completely smooth though.

Let me know if you want to know more.

Regards,
CPJ

When I did the latest rig I have, I downloaded the specs that Jetline had available at that time. If not being able to build it for myself, I would've purchased from them. One thing I did learn from them was about the RAM speeds and how they effect FPS as much as the CPU's do... If you cannot build it, buy it, and buy it from them all tuned up. In other words a turn-key sim rig!

Yes, if you can build it yourself and you have the time to OC it and tune it, absolutely you should build it. If not, its a small premium to pay for a fully tuned, benchmarked system.

The other thing is they benchmark it for FS before they send it to you.
