Hi All

I am going demented by a problem with the Dispatcher Console Scenario function. Every time I save a flight in the air eg on approach or in cruise (using the "save all") function it will not reload correctly. What happens is the same every time, ie I load the default flight into FSX, then run the Dispatcher Console to load my previously saved flight eg at TOD somewhere. The plane is correctly positioned, but the wheels come down, the plane climbs gradually and loses speed, refusing to obey the A/P speed and altitude functions.

I have tried the following, completely removed all traces of SA then reinstalled on all machines with all options at default settings. Tried simple scenario saves without flight plans, even removed FSX and reinstalled !!!!

End result no change at all - I am becoming totally frustrated

Am I the only one with this problem?  - I am thinking that SIOC is easier than SA

David does it come good if you give it enough time?  I know Sim-A takes a while (up to a minute) to catch up with FS if you change a scenario however all ours are saved with the plane on the ground not in flight.  We also need to reset the MCP by cycling the Autothrottle and FD's off and on but it does come back online.

Hi Ken

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly nothing comes good even after time, cycling the A/T, A/P trying level change etc etc to control speed and altitude does not work and the plane does not respond correctly. I have never compared what happens to the default 737 MIP panel in FSX until now, however, when the SA MCP (software) turns on the A/P etc there is no change to the default FSX panel. Do not know whether this is correct - just clutching at straws now.

10 days into this troubleshooting and making no progress at all, indeed gone backwards with a FSX reinstall to complete >:(
It would be interesting to know if anyone has made an inflight scenario save/load work

Regards and thanks

David

Hi Jack

Sorry, should have said I posted on the FDS site :)
Anyway, just had an email from Mark, perhaps it may not be me being an idiot. We are now going to liaise to get to the bottom of this. There is one benefit from these trials and tribulations, you get to know the systems better and come out the other end with a better setup - well that what I am hoping :)

Best regards

David

Try Prosim737 ;)

I used SA for over 1 year and just got so feed up with all the bugs etc.....I tried Prosim737 and have never looked back!

Prosim737 is updated ever other week (Beta) with improvements and fixs....very stable and everything that needs to work does. Forum is very active with help from developers when needed.
The Jetstream737 Model is very good too.

Just my 2 cents :)

I guess everybody has different experiences. I use SimA and I'm quite happy with it. There were growing pains for sure but it has matured into a very nice product.
My 2 cents as well  :)

Incidentally David, I just tried today for the first time to save a fairly complex scenario and it worked perfectly for me, in fact even better than I expected. I never tried saving a scenario until I read your post so thanks for bringing it to my attention :). Wish I could help you but I have no idea what your issue is so hopefully Mark will sort this out for you.

I have been using SA for some years now and was one of the first. I have rarely had any real problems, they were generally self inflicted :)
My only issue was the inability to save and reload in-flight scenarios and in particular the lack of response to my emails seeking help.

Thankfully Mark is now on the case as I do not want to turn this into a SA bashing and trust that my experience was an isolated one

sorry guys my reply to you has been deleted....guess Peter didn't want someone's negative option on SA  posted..does here really have that much influence over the people running this forum.

I hope I'm wrong!

Chris,
I read your old post, maybe the moderators just thought it could be directed in a different outlet such as the Sim-A forum help or something?  This is a thread about getting help with a dispatcher console right? Bashing it and talking about how VNAV doesnt work when you had it in my eyes helps nobody.

Just throwing out negative comments is just wrong i think and shouldnt belong here anyhow. Especially from a new member with 4 posts behind them.  And honestly if you know exactly how VNAV is supposed to work did you try working with SimA developers?

Hi,

As the Sim-A software developer I feel I need to jump in here and say a few words.

For those experienced pilots and for those who just love all aspects of flying, we build our flightdecks for many reasons.... Some love the nuts and bolts (or hammer and nails!) construction, some love electronics and wiring, some love to spend hours adjusting their operating system to make it run as perfectly as possible and some.....  just love to fly.

Whichever you are, the software is a large piece of the puzzle and is possibly one of the more complicated items to setup. I always try to make new functionality as transparent and 'plug n play' as possible but sometime this isn't always easy. Coupled with all of the additional programs and various types of hardware out there, getting everything to run perfectly can take some time.

My focus is - and has always been working to ensure the software is as realistic as possible, and I realise that this means there are sometimes software errors, which I make every effort to address as soon as possible. However I'd like to reasure you that Sim-A has been growing stronger than ever over the last 12 months, development hasn't stopped and our customer base continues to grow. Professional clients like Boeing, Honeywell, USDOT and FAA are all currently using Sim-A in various forms for testing and R&D.

I'm aware that a new version hasn't been released for a while, but this will soon be changing as I'm just finishing up a new website layout and will then be posting new updates. Additional documentation is also in the works to assist with the setup and configuration along with practical 'walk throughs'.

Without doubt everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm sure that no one here is scared of posting anything. I think it's probably more a case of respect rather than - "scared to post".
Whatever the industry or product, for every person who has a problem or who hates a product, there will always be many more who love it.

If you have any problems or queries with Sim-A please don't hesitate to email me direct at support@sim-avionics.com where I will get back to you as soon as possible and am always happy to work with you to resolve any issues.
Also another great place to visit is the Sim-Avionics support forum at http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/forum/ where there are lots of experienced users who are also able to help.

All the best
Mark

so bashing me is okay Mike?

Chris im not bashing you, you have what looks to be a nice sim and im sure you'll have plenty to offer here on these forums as time goes on.  Just trying to offer some guess work looking from the outside as to why your post was deleted as you seem a little shocked and sarcastic.

Lots of great dedicated people here on this forum as you will see, lets move on...

Well said Mike! We all get enough grief while building a sim without getting on each other nerves as well  :)

Thanks for chiming in Mark and letting us know what is in the works. More complete documentation as well as explanations about some of the features/options and the more obscure server settings will go a long way in preventing needless aggravations. This is particularly true for those of us (most of us) who are not type rated in a 737 (or any airliner for that matter) and do not fully understand all its capabilities & functionality.

I am delighted to say that through this forum, the problem has been resolved. I was made aware of a newer version of the software which I did not know was available.
I can now save and load all scenarios and any hint of porpoising has completely gone, I can even accelerate the sim to x4 !

Mark

Thanks, but there is now no need to take up your offer of using teamviewer to try and identify the problem.

Many thanks to CB.
