Well history has been written, the great fall of America has began.   Best quote of the night on CNN, During their exit polling, 67% were against tax hikes!  Guess what, they all voted for Obama who said he was going to raise taxes!  Uneducated people voting for skin color! So freaking sad.   Think I might move to Cancun  LOL

Politics has and always will be a difficult subject in any place. Unfortunatly it's the price we all pay for our freedoms.

Freedom of speech is what we promote here and if someone wants to say they are unhappy with the color their wife chooses for their bathroom that's TOTALLY OK Like this, it is in the appropriate area.

I do believe there is a place for that sort of thing, regardless everyone is entitled to vent in their own way about issues that surround them.

Lets not make this a long drawn out electoral thing though. I am sure all of us have different opinions on the subject. 

Any slams against members though are not going to be tolerated because of their personal views.

I'm thinking that when someone refers to the general population as "uneducated people voting for skin color", that may generate some pretty nasty replies. I agree, freedom of speech is what we cherish but making a comment like this is not something we necessarily want or need on this board.  Just my opinion.

Its about time you guys have a president who is looking at fixing his own backyard instead of destroying others. Thats pretty darn hard to do though when any sensible idea that could potentially help the little guy is constantly blocked in the senate.

It is very disrespectful to say that minorities are uneducated and simply voted based on skin color. I promise you I am FAR from uneducated and so are Romney and Obama. Rather than turn this into a drawn out debate, I'll simply leave it at that.

As seen from another country, it would been a total disaster for USA if Romney won. Obama is on the right track, and it is good he got the opportunity to continue what he started. Bush was a total disaster. Now it seems people have a right to medical over there. Thats great. We have had those rights in Europe for decades. Yes we pay more tax, but at the end of the day, its everyones benefit. Now its time to make sure the americans get their guns and ammo locked up also. I apologize if I offended anyone.

I do want to clarify my statement of uneducated. It meant about the candidates and their goals, idea's, and general frame of mind.  Way to many people voted that had no clue why other than , shall i say, the name of the candidate.   CNN exit poll asked "Do you thinks its ok to raise taxes to cut deficit"   They said NO, guess voted for?? The O team and very openly said I will raise taxes.  Hence my uneducated remark.   Hope that makes sense.

I won't even go into the late night tv host questions to the general public, youtube it and you'll why i said i'm embarrassed for my country.  Ok one quote "what do you think about Obama have Paul Ryan as a running mate and that he is black?"   Voter, " I have no problem with that"  Really?  And you get the idea.   

ivar, if you think he is doing a great job, we'll send him your way in 4yrs.

I will just say one thing especially to the non-US crowd.   The US population is really split almost 50/50 on this topic as very evident by the outcome of the vote.   I have many friends even in my own neighborhood that agree with my views and just as many friends and associates that do not.   If you feel like openly expressing your opinions about the US versus Europe/Canada/etc politics and policies realize that to the US crowd that no matter what you say you are going to upset about half the folks in the room with your opinion.   

But the real thing to note is that what is beautiful about our country is that each person has the Constitutional right to his/her opinion and to vote for the person of their choosing and have a say no matter how small.

Also, remember that there are always two sides to the pancake and often what the mainstream media in the US puts out is often quite questionable.   You need to be smart and do your research and not just listen to a bunch of news people with hidden agendas.   I think that is what Rob probably meant when he said uneducated.

I usually do not post to these types of threads, actually its the first one of this type and for the record I do not post that often in any forum. However after the quoted post I feel I have no choice.

It is a sad time for the USA no matter what side of the political line you are on. That is fact. The last four years have been devistating to our economical and political freedoms. When a president openly goes after media groups because they do not agree with him or ask him the tough questions that he doesn't feel like answering then there is a problem. Government spending and taxes on the rise with no end in site. Lets take a look at European countries and the devestating situation they are in trying to bail each other out. Our president should step forward and change our direction based on what he sees happening around the world but again he just spends more and puts current and future generations in a terrible position.

So..."It would been a total disaster for USA" Really? "Bush was a total disaster" Really? Yes, I am asking you really? Based on what information?

Here in the USA we live it and we deal with it every day. Lets talk Civil Rights for all regardless of color, sexual preference and or political following.. Remember the vote abolish segregation? Civil Rights Act of 1964. Which political party pushed that through Congress and which party threatened and attempted to block it? You guessed it. The Democratic party was against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. They threatened to filabuster the vote and when it came time to vote a higher percentage of Democrats voted against Civil Rights. Is'nt there some irony that the party that tried to block it now says they are the party for equal rights?

People have had the right to live the homosexual lifestyle in the USA for a long time. Remember the sixties and seventies in the US? Yeah it was going on before then but that is when it went main stream. The right has always been there but it is the acceptance part that is having problems. In fact accepting the homosexual lifestyle has hit a snag world wide. I get to frequent United Kingdom and other European countries frequently. Hmmmm. Its no different there than in the US. You may say they have the right but sadly they still are subject to the same acceptance issue they face here in the US. In certain countries, such as Iran, someone found to participate in the homosexual lifestyle is subject to death.

Here in the US not everyone gets to benefit from the taxes. Well not equally. Certain groups get more benefits than others. Is that equal treatment? Before you answer, Julie, my girlfriend, did not get equal treatment when she lost her job to Obama's economy.

Well the fact that 737Nut comes on this site and makes a simple statement about his thoughts shows that he cares more than just himself. He cares about this country, over here, not just himself. I am not saying you are ignorant, I am saying people living in other countries do not know the situation in the US and what we deal with every day.  This country continues to fall into the same hole that other countries already have. The fact that I work hard every day, makes it MY MONEY, MY STUFF. Not you nor any government have a right to take what I worked so hard for. That is a human right and just not a right in the US.

Amen! I agree with you 100%. ITS EVERYONES JOB TO CONTRIBUTE TO A GOOD ECONOMY FOR EVERYONE. Could not be said any better by anyone and I compliment you on your thinking. Then why should we, the taxpayers, the people of the United States, constantly be taxed more while others CHOOSE not to work at all? I am talking about lazy people that are making a concious decision not to work. Why should we, the taxpayers, the people, be taxed more when others from other countries illegally come into this country and do everything they can not to pay taxes but expect the benfits of those who do? Since Obama was elected president that has gotten worst not better.

One thing I would like to see is Obama bring our troups stationed around the world hime. Yep pick up our guns anduse them to protect our land. Let every country defend themselves and spend THEIR MONEY, not ours, on defending their land from their friendly neighbors.

The facts are that the decline in this country started way before Obama, Bush, Clinton and so on. Obama has made a decision to expedite that fall.

Anyway that is my rant. I do not mean to offend anyone but I do not apologize if I did. It'sOkay to take a shot at 737Nut and this country because he expressed his opinions about the country he loves then I guess we do not need to apologize for anything.

We may not be subject to the Big Bird and Jeep to China campains like you guys are in but the outcome of the elections have a huge bearing on the rest of the world.  As non Americans we may not have the right to vote but we certainly have a right to express our opinions in an open forum where the topic was originated by an American without the fear of upsetting anyone.

Thats why I vote for Politics and Religion being a taboo subject At cockpitbuilders.com from here on out. It always gets people offside and this awsome hobby with you guys isnt the place for that.

I vote for that as well. There are plenty of other forums where you can talk about politics & religion. I'm not a fan of censorship in general, but politics & religion stirs deep emotions & creates animosity for many people and this the last thing I want to see in this forum.

While I wasn't going to post, but I have to say...  what Ivar said is the crux of the whole problem in the US right now, and the thought process that is leading to Global this and global that.

To the residents (I purposely don't say citizens) and those that think the US should be more like them:  Last time I checked, the US began because a small group of people didn't agree with the direction things were headed.

It's all well and good to blame the woes of the world, on the US, but those in the EU are now finding out (and contrary to popular practice and belief it's not Americas fault) the issues that arise when multiple little states try to coexist in three dimensions (statehood, or individual identity; federalism, or part of the greater picture or union; and on a rapidly shrinking global environment).  You can blame Greece, or Portugal, or Spain (or Italy, then any other country) but the issue is really what happens when the greater state forces the little ones to do what they think is best for everyone.

I've lived in Europe for 30+ years, under monarchy, democracy, socialism, and communism.  At the end of the day, even with it's problems, the US system is still a far superior, and makes for a far better place to live.

I agree with everything that was said. I also agree there are other forums better suited for this discussion.

Regardless of my feelings which are the issues that prior us elected officials all contributed to the state of the American economy that your current president faced in the last 4 years. No matter who was elected in the last election they would have been blamed for the crisis the economy is in today.

These issues just can't be solved in a short time.

All I know is that president Obama would be way better for Canada than the dictator we have creating omnibus bills sneakily circumventing the system here in Canada.

The best part about all of this is that we will all live for another 4 years, and all of us will come out of this recession better educated than we were prior to it.

For the twitter servers getting hit with over 600,000 tweets a minute you had to expect even our forum would get hit with at least one political post.
