Hi Guys.

Im about to purchase 3x 24" Monitors for my FSX office based GA setup.

Im looking at 3 DELL U2414H monitors seen here because they have a very thin bezel onthe sides which is perfect for a pit setup.

Im connecting to my PC through 3 displayports and im on AMD Eyefinity.

My question is this, given my specific aim is for my sim setup, (and if needs be I dont mind spending a little more cash to get the right setup) would it be worth me investing in a wider central monitor - when I say wider im referencing the newer 29" displays that would have nearly the same height as the 24" DELL on the sides but much wider width? something like this ASUS 29" here (note: im only thinking of the central monitor out of the 3 though!)?

Im also building a full 737 on a colli displays so this is just for the office :)

Any options really appreciated on this as it has been racking my head trying to decide what to do!

Cheers Guys!

James.

It depends on how your wanting to use the setup.

If you are going to have the outside view on 1 monitor and the other 2 monitors are just going to be for the overhead panel or other applications like squawkbox/fsinn etc, then a larger center monitor would work fine.

If you want to have a full 'wrap around' view, you really want to have all the monitors the same.

Hi Sorry,

Yes your right! I should have mentioned this.

Im thinking of going full wrap around external view as I already have a mobile desk based Saitek instrument panel which will sit in front (and slightly lower) of the screens.

Thanks :)

Yup, for a wrap around your monitors need to be identical IE 3 x ASUS 29". This is hyper critical if you are using a Matrox 3Head2Go. Good luck, Charlie.

I have never used the AMD setup but I know for Nvidia all 3 monitors MUST be identical. Does not work if they are not.

That's correct your need 3 of the same resolution. Size helps as we'll.

Just out of interest anyone using 3 29" ultra wide monitors. These usually have higher resolution than a typical 27"
