Hi Folks,

I've recently received my FDS-SYS-1X card and this card is really amazing!
I can't wait to install it and struggle with wiring.  ;)

Speaking of which, i'm concerned about how to hook up the battery switch. Do i need to plug it to the FDS card? I didn't see this toggle switch through the cabling matrix provided by FDS.

Regarding the rest, do you have any advice and/or tips for wiring? such as material choice?

Thank you.

JP, You will wire it the same as you do all your switches.  Just to the switch inputs on the interface and assign it the battery master function or the correct FSUIPC Offset.  Exciting isn't it?  we all like getting new goodies.

Thanks Trevor!

So, as long as i have only my FDS card, i'll not need any external power such as a PSU, right?
I only need the AC/DC adaptor delivered with the SYS1X...

Have you any tips regarding the cable that suits well for wiring the overhead?

Trevor Hale

You will eventually require a power supply at some point likely. Just not right away. Cat 5 work or any other 24/26 gauge cable.

That was my guess! No rush to get one PSU for now.

I will test the first switch and then the card. I'm really exciting to begin my wiring!

Hi JP,

Just so we are all on the same page here.

There is no voltage running to the switch inputs. Only wires to switches and InterfaceIT reading the switches. We use 24 gauge wire.

LED's can be powered via the SYS card, using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) so only connect 2 LED's per Output. Use the correct LED's. Again using 24 gauge wire.

Have fun!

Thank you!

Just have connected the first switch yesterday, and it's really impressive how easy it is.
I'm about now to struggle with the mess of cable i'm expected to have in the next few months.

I've downloaded a matrix, and i hope this doc will guide me through the next steps...
