Well, just FYI for any McDonnell Douglas fans, I'm scrappn' the MD80 platform and sticking with DC-9.  I'm using the Coolsky DC9 software which is easier to adapt to a full cockpit build than the LSH Maddog (I think) and its more realistic.  But anyway, spent last week matching the colors for the classic 60's aqua marine blue.  Right now I'm working on the glare shield which has FLT DIR and LGT panels; hoping to start phasing out these Saitek's; and then starting the Arduino plunge this summer for all my "steam gauges" (thank you again Trevor )...but I still love MD80's!  ANYWAY,  I know its a "hardware store special" compared to a lot of the awesome 73's here, but someday....

OK, may not be a big deal to some but got my first actual REAL airplane part for the pit a captain's chair, best part it's FREE, (well there may be a bottle(s) of fine tequila in the works for a trade and for a FOs chair)..anyway, looks like it's out of some type of mid sized corporate jet, it's perfect ESP when it's free. :idiot:

I reckon it's a "big deal". :D

I remember the feeling of getting my first real parts - forward and aft overhead frames - for my first sim. When they arrived, I just sat there for hours studying them, with beer in hand of course!

Enjoy!

Thanks Karl, you are so right! ...just sitting and admiring; taps into the love of this hobby and aviation!

Cool Project. Nice to see others building classic stuff. There's something rewarding about converting and blowing life into old scrapped airplane parts.

Cheers
