Hi All,

I currently have a CP Flight USB MCP Cpt/FO EFIS, this is the 85% sized variant, I am currently going through a complete rebuild of my pit in a new location, and during this thought if it would be possible to change the red 7 segment displays in the MCP for white or amber ones, after extensive searching around the web I have failed to find the necessary specifications for the displays, my thoughts are once I get this information, they would "simply" be lifted off their plinths and replaced, many thanks in advance for any advice. 8)

I changed out the red in mine with amber and it works fine.  I have the RS232 85% version.

I don't have any extras.  I still have the red ones though.  Regardless, here is the link to the post in this forum where Raymond first tried it.  I used the same part number.

Here is a link to mouser.com, one of the places available to purchase from:  http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Avago-Technologies/HDSP-7403/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvkC18yXH9iIsSFKp4VzurGoIzdZmXSZPw%3d

I went one better and designed a new 1:1 scale front panel so it fits in my glareshield.  It's not perfect, but it is a damn sight better than it was!

Warren,

Many thanks for your help and links, they have plenty in stock, so shall order after work today.

Compliments on the 100% face plate, most certainly a major improvement on original, a work of art, I recently purchased a reasonable CNC machine, software is Cut 2d, Vectris, and Mach 3, still at the stage of cutting just circles and squares, soon hope to remove my stabilisers and cut something a little more adventurous  :)

thanks again

That would be great, currently I use a 3mm End Mill, for most everything,I know a bit of subject, but could you give me a hint of a text cutting tool, have purchased a number of 3mm A4 size plastic sheets from a local model shop to use as sacrificial pieces for practice. have actually cut a couple of plates to use as backing for overhead gauges to mount servos which fit nicely with the stand-offs to the gauge face.
