I read somewhere (cant remember where due to old age) that W7 refuses to run softs older than X years....
Was it on this forum ??
and what is the antidote?

Try the free upgrade to windows 10 LOL.  I have actually never heard that Jack, I run W7 at work and it is still ticking away just fine.

To test, install your FS9 into it and see what happens LOL  I bet it will work, which would blow that theory out.

Jack,
There are a few ways to do this. Some say do a custom install and install to c:. Dont install to any of the  Program files.
Second method is to use the no cd option.
Regards
Les
P.S Google displays many options.

Right click FS9.exe
Click properties
Click on the compatibility tab
Select the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
select Windows XP Service Pack 3
Apply

Also make sure it's not installed in the Program files directory.
