Control column base (for US)

Just found, (browsing a hardware store) that this item fits perfectly a real column.
The inside diam of the top threaded part is right on the dot if you have to lengthen a badly cut control column.
The fitting is for 3"pipes (which are actually a tad more than 3")
Valid only in North America with our medieval  british measures.

There are other ways to do it but this costs $3.99 and is fairly sturdy.
