Hi guys...

Not been too much from me the last two years... I have just returned home, after being abroad for 21 months. And now finally back in my favourite place  :) Been busy opening packages with stuff and am in the process of tidying up so I can slowly get started on sim number two. Bought a few cabinets to put bits and pieces in, which should help alot.

So I decided to build another 737. Which was a really easy decision. As after a few years on woody, I have gained some 737 experience, and can do number 2 much more properly and accurate than number 1. Also number two will be mostly based on real parts. And... so far it turns out cheaper than buying replica parts also. Some parts is dead cheap, and some parts cost slightly more. But they have a part number which doesnt go out of production for a while, and 737`s will be scrapped in many years to come. They still make them... So parts availability will be better and better. Have already scored most of the hard to get parts. But much of my collection is not in this picture though.

Still some stuff to collect before I actually start the build, but its getting there. No desicion is yet made regarding software to run it on, or P3D vs X-plane. No rush on that. This time I will make the sim in the right order.

Just a pic of wot my basement looks like now. I think it looks pretty cool. Feels great to finally be back home, and enjoy my hobbyroom  :)

Welcome home. Good luck on your new project ... I see a lot of familiar parts

Based on what I can see on the floor, it looks like you will be using many 'steam gauges' and real 737 monitors.  Looks like a very ambitious project but if anybody can pull it off, you are the one to do it :)

Your parts are great Axel  :)

Yeah, project 2 is defo ambitious  :) Have spent 1,5 years collecting stuff now. I will use replica parts where it makes sense to do so. And wont interface anything at all before I have what it takes to do so. But still not made any 100% decision of how to do it. Will defo make a wiring layout.

The MIP on the floor I basically bought for annunsiators. A "Nick" MIP = cheap annunciators +++ ;) But I am drooling of making a "quick change" setup. Classic and NG in one setup. Time will show. The hardest task with NG, is to crank up those screens... But I have alternative screens here in case the big ones will be book-supports in my shelf. And for Classic, it is defo all the gauges that is the hardest challenge. Both interfacing, and to get them...

Feels great to be slowly back in business though. I dont have space for two sims here, so sim number one is considered for sale. I prefere building than flying anyway  :) Only thing missing sim number 1 is a dual pedal setup.

I also have a huge collection of switches and annunsiators. A lot more than I need myself. Will most likely make a "for trade" post later when I get in control of the collection...  :)

Ivar,

Welcome home. Maybe I can finally come over from Sweden and meet you before you sell the first sim?

Hey Ivar, welcome back.  Cant wait to see this come together.    I agree with the others....you must have lost some of your marbles abroad :-)

Good Luck!

Scott

PS - If ever you need me to check something out at Nicks I am pretty close by.

ivar hestnes

I surely has lost all my money also... wasted on old cars, old house and old planes  ;D

Somethings just doesnt change. Thanks for that  ;)

Say hello to Nick when you pass by. Not so often I need to get stuff inspected before purchase though. Nicks parts are always as he describes them. Always positive experience with him  :)

vidarf

Any towels for my head, then? :D

Try to waste some money on old booze as well.

"Why do you drink so much?"
"To forget my huge debt"
"Why do you have a huge debt?"
"Because I drink so much."
