Read that article and the biggest thing will be Windows 8...it is horrible! Okay, it has merits, but using it in a cockpit is/will be a challenge. For sim users, I recommend the Ipad because so many programs have been written for it already.

Right now, I'm in the sim, flying on VatSim, and using 2 ipads. One is for Avilasoft EFB, and the other is for pulling up charts from AirNav or Navigraph nDAC services, as well as surfing.

I love tried and true.

John, how are you running aivlasoft's EFB on the iPad?  I didn't realize it was ported to iOS.

Hi Warren,

Well, it's not really ported into the iOS yet, so I am just using Air Display. Still, with that, you really cant tell the difference.

I use OzRunways, which is a brilliant program, built for the ipad. It has moving map, dropbox integration and a whole lot more.

Only problem is, it's for Australia and New Zealand.

Having said that, my sim is built for the Oz routes, so it suits me down to the ground. OzRunways, PFPX, P3D V2, what more could a budding avaiator want?????

I'm using air display 2 which works ok. Certainly good to have EFB in your hand, when it's needed in a rush ( short finals, where? shit!!)
