For those builders looking at interfacing options for X-Plane, there is a library and plugin for arduino that has become very easy to use, with little or no programming needed. Find it here http://arduino.svglobe.com

Wanted to add that this is great and cheap way into a home cockpit.  His software is great!  But beware that it does not work with Teensy products from PRJC.
