Has anyone bought just a few panels from FDS (737 panels) instead of a complete kit?

jackpilot

Probably as a custom order which means delay and $$.
Production is certainly geared to complete sets and taking a few panels out of a set means that these panels will need to be run again separately. Not really cost effective from a stock management perspective.
I suggest you ask directly FDS about the idea

They do provide this, so i will use the FDS panels where the 737 classic OEM panels differ from the 800 that i build.

Talk about nice customer service, those people at FDS are the best i have ever seen in any company on just having great support and customer care.

FDS panels and OEM are 100% interchangeable. They fit on real frames with dzus and backlighting is even and identical to OEMs in color.
Here is my pedestal (real) with FDS panels mixed with some OEM panels  (ACPs /  Radar/  HF )

Sometimes OEM is cheaper than replicas after byuing switches korrys etc. But there are no OEM panels available for the -800 and if they were i prob could not afford them. So i will go the IBL panel way for the rest of the overhead panels that are NG. Also i will use them for the pedistal.

Great news that they are 100% changable with oem, because i will use switches and korrys from the OEM battery panel on the IBL.

Simworld makes beautiful panels, but the hazzle with the backlighting makes it a no-go.

Simparts.de looks nice and in europe, but no reference on them.

By the way, joke of the year:

Switches and guards are standard , annunciators may be different, not in size but the way they are attached as the real ones have a push function. besides they use bulbs (24v I think). you would be better off with the FDS twin leds annunciators
