Hi All,
In case you haven't seen it there's a lot of new data concerning this new simulator. Which surprisingly is starting to look very interesting.
It would seem that Microsoft are keen to get it right this time; of course time will tell but first impressions from people who are usually quite critical have been very positive.
The link below is from Froogle who used to work for PC Pilot, he still offers quite a balanced overview, with live Q and A footage from the developers Asobo Studios.

I wasn't invited to attend, (obviously not important enough), anyway I was in San Diego on holiday with my family at the time. It was my first visit to the US, we had a wonderful time, so it won't be my last.

Joe, thanks for your input.

Of the people I have spoke with. Most are sceptical as we have been bitten by the Microsoft bug before. Let all hope they do make it right this time and do things in a way that won't make the endeavour of interfacing impossible.

Crossing my fingers.

From what I have seen thus far. I am pleasantly optimistic.

As you say Trev, cautiously optimistic, which seems to be the attitude of most people I've spoken to.

The trouble is Flight looked good from the advertising, but was way too limiting for the members of this forum. The same applies to Flight Sim World.
I believe this product will be subscription based, so uses will have to pay a yearly fee to use it. They haven't said so, or denied it either, but because it's going to be a mainly online product it would make sense.

Still we'll have to wait and see, it's only in a Pre Alpha state yet, so I'm sure more information will filter through as it gets closer to completion. I was surprised to hear that Asobo have been working on this for five years, how did they keep it a secret for that long?
