Jørgen B. Nielsen

Hi all,

My name is Jørgen B. Nielsen, and I'm situated in Trondheim, Norway. After 10 years of dreaming and 2 years of planning, I'm finally in the process of cockpit mock up. The plan is to build 737 cockpit, with as much diy as I am capable of. The project plan has been to model as much as possible in CAD to minimize headscratching and rebuilding. The structure is made from laser cut sheet aluminum, while the rest of the components are to be machined on my OX CNC router or 3D-printed. As space is limited, the plan is to use three 65-75" TVs for outside view. There is still a ton of work left, however it has been really rewarding seeing 2 years worth of planning starting to come to life.

Hello Jorgen,

It looks like you have a great start on your 737 Sim Project.   Having the CAD and Fabrication capability bodes well for your making good progress on your Sim.  I can see from your photos that you have a lot of ingenuity incorporated in the design of your Flight Deck.  Nice work!

Be sure to consider access and maintenance in all areas of the Flight Deck.

Great job!
