Hi guys,

Somebody, a few weeks back, recommended I look into Arduino as a micro controller board. I did and it should be arriving next week. I've been searching around but can't find out how you can get FSX/FSUIPC to detect the axis? Is there some way to make the output from the pots be detected by FSUIPC?

Sam,
Take a look at this link. I have successfully converted two Arduino Uno's and one Mega in the past and they work pretty well. I have never used one for pots but I understand that they work just fine. I used Arduino boards for my generic build a couple of years ago and they did an acceptable job for the type of build I did. There is a learning curve to programming them but it is not quite rocket science and my little pea brain was able to absorb just enough to get them functioning as I wanted them to at the time. For a larger scale build, they are not the optimal solution but for a smaller setup they are fine.

Also take a look at this guy in New Zealand who has done quite a bit with Arduino and FSX/FS9.

Hope it helps!
