Hey all,
Just checking in letting ya'll know im still alive!  A Thanks goes to  Bob Reed for basically saying where the hell have you been :)

Cold and flu season was rough on me and the family, used up alot of sick time this year! Still trying to figure out where the last few months have gone.. At least we all made it! lol

Other than that, still flying my ass off trying to get back in the sim program here and get some work done. The pics of your sims here are always motivational!  Always a pleasure to look for updates. Look forward to being a bit more active here again!

Ohh like i was saying, i found the perfect sim setup again in my office. No need to try and tweek things, mess with settings, which addon works best with whatever traffic setup, no upgrading CPU and graphics cards.. just works and its always a blast... here it is.....

Good one ;D

The best is the crackling sound of the engine!!!

Hi Mike,
This is amazing, as I was just thinking about this and trying to find a solution the other day. Please tell us where you got the 5.25" floppy disk drives? I've been trying to find some for my sim setup but unsuccessful so far.

Also anyone that has the connection cable lying around somewhere that you don't need, I'm willing to pay big cash to get it off your hands... FSX just isn't giving the right feeling unless I connect the Commodore to my triple projector setup :D

Hey Mike,

Glad to hear you're still kicking tires and lighting fires...uh...okay, flicking the engine start switches. So, when do you plan to offer FAA certified training on that C64? Is that a recent picture or from long ago? I ask because I still have my C128, with Monitors, 2 Drives, mouse and all the original software with books. I even have all my programs including the one on your screen. I've hauled mine around since 1987 when I purchased it at the PX in Mannheim, Germany. Those were for sure the good old days. Really, who didn't love "Sprites" back then or Load "*", 8, 1...

Oh yeah, a crappy black & white monitor with a slide show & horrible graphics. Good old days indeed!  ;D Personnally, I think the good old days sucked, but that's me  :)

But then again, I never swore as much as I do now even when it took 20 minutes to load the program from floppies. Maybe they were indeed the good old days.

At least back then, there was no Blue Screen of Death :)

I had that too!

Also had one for my Sinclair ZX-81 computer.  Had to lead it via cassette tape, not floppy disk.

Oh crap, I'm old
Less than 4 years to retirement......

BSD, thats a current pic in my office. I got it from a friend a few months ago. I always loved that computer and i have also been doing some Assembly Language programming on it for kicks.. It all coming back and yes i feel old!

Maurice, To me those were the days lol!! 13-14 years old, nothing to but hang out in the air conditioned rooms and play video games with friends! I have been flying with my Grandfather since i was 5 and FS was a way for me to fly solo in a way. We would sit together and he would teach me about VOR's and navigation and all. I guess in a way it was way more than just the choppy graphics and silly sounds :) Playing FSII these days brings it all back.. good stuff!

OOooh Assembler Language, bring back memories, some bad ones, ttoooo many bites and bytes.

When you explain that you learnt Assembler and Fortran the F/O youre flying with looks at you and says yes we learnt about that in history  :( yep feeling old.
After programming we had to type out the punch cards - better not make a mistake or the program would crash  :-[

Great but not always the good ol days ....

Then there's COBOL and RPG and .....
Brain has forgotten lots of that stuff....

I like the upgrade to CGA color from monochrome  :D

Mike,
as you know...  your sim can never be truly perfect unless you upgrade to something better:

let me know if you're ready to move up in your simming experience...  I found these as I was weeding through stuff to pack.

I'd forgotten I even had sublogic's Flight...  it was still sealed...  must have upgraded right past it.

I think I still have three C64's, some tape and floppy drives, and other odds and ends in that back corner of my storage...  those should surface soon.

Incidentally...  Microsoft bought FS from sublogic...  it appears they must have also gotten "Flight" in the deal.  The price on the box reads $23.95
