Decided, after hunting the forums, to make my own oxy panels.

Got some pics of the real panels, made drawings from them with dimensions and knocked them up.

Started with two layers of 6mm mdf and sandwiched them. Filled and sanded a few times and then bought some braided hoses from the local hardware (found them in the plumbing section) and painted the hoses gold to replicate the oxy hose colour.

Then attached a cable with cable-ties (like the real thing) and routed it top and bottom to the base panel that I cut from mild steel sheeting.

Just about finished, now. Just gotta do my decals for the lettering and a few coats of clear gloss and Bob's your uncle!

Also, just finished knocking up the vent panels on the kneeboards.

Will post a few pics of them too, if anyone's interested.

That Looks really good Frank.  Well done.  I think it looks close enough to the real thing for sure.

Hmmm, anyway, I know it says Oxy panels in the thread name, but I'm gonna add something else to it.

I also knocked up some "fake vent" panels, as well.

I took some pics and worked out some dimensions, started off making the vent controls.

Two pieces of 3mm mdf and two pieces of 4 x 2.....you get the idea.

The vent itself was something of a mind stretch. I used two Xmas mirror balls , cut in half and glued to a little base panel. Then cut the tops out of them and added the ends of two door stops (which happened to be the right size and look like a vent).

Four or five sands and fills later, voila!

Added both of these components to another base panel and added some dzus fasteners (fake) to the panel and attched them.

Here's some pics:

Pretty cheap to manufacture, about 20 bucks for the two, but 15 bucks of that was for the can of chrome paint of which I still have 9/10ths of a can left for other projects.
