As my base is 8X8 feet I have an extra 10 inches behind the back wall.
I will build this structure and skin it for rigidity with some gray melamine
The 10" depth will accomodate/hide PSUs and various hardware and make a nice frame for the door (not sure I will install a door). Also some shelving for the Jepp books/charts/appr plates.
Anyway just sharing a concept.

Install a door Jack. The immersion factor really does go up a notch when you close the door - and the sound alters.

I enjoy my sim much more with the door  . . seems distracting if the door is left open.   If a door is an option Jack . . I would toss the idea around a little  maybe put up a temporary door and see how it feels . . of course you can always come back and add a door later.     :idiot:

If u want to get real life, put in a door and a phone.. Then when you have to go to the bathroom you have to call and ask permission! Thats what i have to do!

Honestly a door i think would be great. I know i plan on it.

I plan to add a door as well, but remember ventilation guys! I plan to hook up the vents in the roof liners I have to a blower of some sort.
Because you need to add glass/plexi in the windows too, if you want immersion factor! :)

Yes . . ventilation is important.  I am running one projector on my generic sim at the moment and two computers in the nose of the shell along with three monitors and it gets warm quickly in the summer and could use some cold air flowing.  Winter is not bad . . just about right but sometimes need a little heat from a small electric heater.     :idiot:
