Great bit of software for multi computer setups

Hello All

Dont know if anyone else has posted about this but I got it a month or so back and it has been really great on my setup..

It is called Multiplicity and I got it from Stardock. What it does it to eliminate the need for a mouse and keyboard for all of the machines on your sim. Once it is installed you add the various machines to the front panel and then you can remove the mouse and keyboard from every machine except for the one you designate as the master machine, It works on your network and it means you can move from amchine to machine with just the one mouse and keyboard. The free version will only service two machines but the payware one does up to nine.
It has really reduced the ammount of hardware I have on my sim and it works in the background as far as I can tell and has no effect on the sim setup.

Just thought I would post it as a possible solution to many keyboards and mice sitting around the flight sim.
I have no affiliation to this product and am not here to sell it but I am so pleased with the reduction in hardware on my setup I thought it was worth sharing it.

Now that sounds useful. My 737 project has four networked desktops and even with keyboards with built in touchpads they are a pain to find a place to stow.

Synergy does the same and is free.  It's what I use for my multi-pc setup.

VCM Software has a similar program and it's free as well.  Sure saves a lot of wires!

Another free one and even better is TeamViewer !   
It can replicate any screen in the network on your desktop.
Also can be used to remotely access the computers from anywhere via Internet in the case you need some assistance from other simmers.

Thanks for the Synergy link Shaun, I've used Multiplicity before and was great by limiting with the free version.  There's a slight difference between Multiplicity/Synergy and the others mentioned here however, apps like Teamviewer are for remote access to systems and offer you a screen of the network computer on your screen.  Yes operationally you can perform functions on the remote PC but Multiplicity/Synergy offer quite a different experience and extend the mouse/keyboard usage across the various PC's screens acting like they were all part of the one PC.  Up to the user whether this is a better experience or not however.

Just some "operational" notes   

Most of us with full simulators have problems seeing the whole screens as they usually are obstructed by frames.
Take the B737NG as an example. You use a 19" Wide PC screen behind the two PFD and ND frames on your MIP.
With Synergy you will still not be able to control the screens and their attached computers as some essential parts are hidden by the ND / PFD bezels.

With Teamviewer on another computer in the LAN (most of us uses an "Instructor Station" that can be used or a networked laptop) you can see the whole screen and also perform any required tasks on it.

Also in a more "full simulator" you often uses 4-5 different computers with attached screens and in that case you will find it a lot easier with TV.
Synergy, however, is great if you have a couple of computers with non-obstructed screens.
I use both, but without TV, screen access would be a nightmare.
