Guilty as charged . I feel like a total newbie here and I can't even decide if I should go with three 27" monitors or three 32" 1080p TVs. Never mind deciding between FSX, P3D, XP or a combination.

Too many decisions to make already and I haven't even started

Lol, lets face it your a hopeless case Maurice.

Just remember that running 3 x HD monitors will tax your system more with the greater number of pixels.  You're use to 1280 x 800 so prepare for lower performance going to 1920 x 1080.  Looks crisp and clear as you would have seen at Scott's place but yes more cause for anguish, it never stops really

True, but this time, it will only be one front view expanded over 3 monitors or TVs instead of 3 undocked windows; no more wraparound display for me. If I can't get a fairly smooth simulation with a PC running at 4.7 Ghz, then it will be time to throw the baby out with the bath water once & for all & take up macrame or basket weaving instead
