Hi all,

Not directly linked to cockpit-building, but I just thought I'd share some excellent vids of actual (KLM) flights. The 737-800 flight I watched showed all parts of a flight between Amsterdam and London Heathrow (EHAM-EGLL), including interaction amongst the pilots, with ATC, as well as some (basic) explanations by the captain of what they are doing. The multiple camera positions may actually be of some use in cockpit building - who knows. Here's the link:

Happy viewing and as always happy building!

Wow, what an incredible set of vids (the 737-800 KLM bird).
I was riveted to the screen.

The video was shot beautifully, the interaction and clarity of the comms between the two pilots was excellent and the overall package is very high quality.

One point I was so pleased to see, was the use of NIGS (nose in guidance system), it's the first time I've seen it used in any video. I was horrified to see him moving into the bay and no marshaller....then I realised about the NIGS!

I reckon any would be sim pilot would be very interested to see the inner most secrets of NG pilotage, as demonstrated by these guys.

Great find, mate, I'll be watching for future epiosdes,

One Word - Fantastic!

With all the software that is available to us there is NOTHING stopping us simulating the whole KLM 738 vid exactly as we see it there...

Imagine me sitting around for the last few months thinking about selling all my stuff off, which would be a huge undertaking, but then a link to these videos gets posted. Now, I've seen a whole new angle of it all, and enough to reinvigorate my enthusiasm by watching these real world pilots...

Thank you for posting this,

John

Glad to have played a part keeping you part of the community John! I've only just started building the 'real thing' myself, but the videos motivated me too after some initial blood, sweat and tears...;-)
