I have a question for the board.

I have a real TQ interfaced by Art with Phidget slider pots. Now I would like to replace these with stringiest. I am looking at the LX-PA series by Unmeasured. Anybody any experience?
Would you recommend others?

I am confused with the different potentiometers. Which one should I best pick? 1k, 2k, 5k, 10k?

thanks!

FredK

The UniMeasure string pots are excellent quality.  I have those in my TQ and they work flawlessly.  1K ohm is all you will ever need.  Just be sure to select the correct string length for your particular application.

thanks Fred for the reply.

As you use them in your tq too, what length did you use? (I presume the string pot is inside the tq?)

Where did you buy them?

FredK

I bought them directly from UniMeasure.

Mine are 10".  Ideally you want to match the string length to your particular max/min travel length for best performance of the pot (that is, utilize about 90% of the travel of the pot). Your mechanical setup may be different from mine however.  This is not a fatal though if it is somewhat off. The most important thing is to make sure that the string is not too short in length of course.

You can get Chinese made ones for about half the price landed... before we get into the "Chinese made" issue, these are actually built very well, solid.  So if price is an issue these are also an option.

Im about to save you a boat load of money,   Just excahnge the supplied pot with a 1T or 3T or use the included 10T depending on needed travel.  Enjoy :) ;D  40.00 sting pot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You pick the value your control card was designed to use.

Any chance you have a link to those Chinese string pots?  I'm not sure the AndyMark solution is best for me, but it has me thinkin...
