With the new computer build going on at the same time as the pit build ive been in a self debate about what gpu to use. And it will need to fit this criteria:

3 projectors
1 output for the g600 pfd
1 output for the regular computer, i dont want to project the home screen while i work on coding for the switches and what not. But im sure i can use a slave computer for this....i think.

I came to conclusion I will switch to P3d and abandon FSX gold edition.

If I have to use 2 cards so be it, but if at all possible to use the onboard mobo graphics for the home screen and the video card for the projectors and mfd???

So, what I was really looking at is the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Gaming GPU, any thoughts on this card?

I have the 1070 running as my primary projection card. Works great and the frame rates are incredible.

You might want to consider the Nvidia GTX980ti.   This GPU has performs well and comes close to the GTX1080.

That said, I am waiting for the Nvidia GTX1080ti.   Unfortunately, Nvidia has delayed its release for sale - perhaps we will see this card in a few months, or sometime this year.

I would suggest that you make the move to P3D.

I am abandoning my tripplehead2go for 1 outside view.

Personally your not going to be able to run prepar3d for outside visuals and your Eicas pfd and nd on one computer.  Your gonna need two.

I am going to purchase the 1060 6gig extreme gamer. Best bang for your buck.

I'm running the GTX 1070 X-Plane and dual monitors for my main visuals

@Trevor , would be interested  on how you get on with the 1060 , I waited for it to come out , then realised they'd reduced the memory down to 6GB
so bought the 1070.

We will post. Ack here but it won't be for a little bit yet. Spent quite a bit of money on the sim recently and I need to water the money tree and let it recuperate lol.

Bob Reed is also going to pickup the 1060 only he is getting one in the next week or so.

We will post back here with results.

Intresting about the 1060 as well. Just like mike i was going to get the 1070. Although reading the specs on the 980ti is pretty appealing, but it uses twice as much power and is about $150 more

Ill be asking a ton of questions soon on how to get the p3d talking between 2 seperate computers. Will i need a copy on each computer or is there a program out there that will do the avionics, mfd, panels?

Trevor Hale

Programs like project Magenta, And Prosim run instrumentation and communicate with Prepar3D.  There are also other programs that display flightsim gauges on other computers.

Research this and you will understand better.

You need the registered version of Fsuipc and wideFS.
