Perhaps this topic has been brought up, my search on the forum didn't find anything.

WideView across a multi-PC environment is nice but has its limitations. Has anyone  got a P3D client/server configuration running where a host PC running P3D talks to multiple clients running P3D and synchronizes aircraft position across all platforms? In other words, replacing the functionality of WideView. It should be very doable, but I can't get my head around Simconnect yet.

Hey Jim,

Take a peek at OPUS FSI and see if that will do the trick for you.  You can D/L the user manual for free.

Steve, Yes - I've worked with that. What I think might work best is to figure out the "multi-channel" feature of P3D to eliminate any 3rd party program. Making it a completely native solution. I think it would benefit all of us.

So I'll keep looking at multi-channel feature. But first it looks like I need to upgrade to the Professional Plus version of P3D. I'll start there.

Thanks

Hi Jim

First off, what are you referring to regarding the "limitations" for WideView?

Admittedly running a multi-computer system is a bear including maintenance thereof,  but performance is fine. WV syncs weather and AI traffic perfectly, provided that weather is transferred outside of WV using FSGRW.

The limitation of Opus is that it does not sync AI traffic.  However WideTraffic can be used in conjunction with Opus.

I have no personal experience with the P3D Pro approach, but the very limited feedback from others that I have received is that the multichannel functionality is not that good.  But such remains largely a mystery since there is no discussion on the topic on the LM forum.
